Pros: Very sharp, great color, contrast, IS for low light
Cons: Not weather sealed like L lenses... but it doesn't carry the L price either.
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this lens if you are a serious amateur and are looking for a great walk-about lens at a reasonable price.

Cons: Plasticky, whereas the 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 feels more solid; Heavier; IS eats battery

Pros: Image Stabilization is a nice and useful feature in some circumstances.
Cons: Fantastic lens, but a little "salty" for photogs on a budget.
The Bottom Line: If you can't afford this awesome lens, you could look for a nice used EF 35-135mm f/4-5.6 USM as an excellent alternative.
